WMSC Driver’s Education

Wyoming Montana Safety Council offers Driver's Education taught by Mr. Tim Woodard, former Laramie County School District Driver's Ed Instructor.


All class times for Fall through Spring sessions are 4:30pm to 7:30pm during the week.


Class times for summer offer 2 sessions. Students may choose between the morning from 7:30am to 11:30am, or the afternoon from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.


You may choose either Classroom + Drive Time for $409 or Classroom Only for $265.

Students will be driving in a 2018 Ford EcoSport and a 2017 Ford Focus equipped with an instructor's brake for safety purposes.

WMSC also offers Private Drive Time with an instructor for $65 per hour. You must have a valid license or permit and proof of insurance to schedule.

Defensive Driving (DDC)

Wyoming Montana Safety Council is a proud chapter of the National Safety Council.


Driver safety training –  because lives are on the line. Motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of death in the workplace and that’s why driver safety training is so important.


Our driver safety training is convenient, effective and engaging. We offer programs that you can use for new employee orientation, refresher and post-incident driver safety training. Driver training saves lives and money... Traffic incidents cost employers over $70 billion each year*. On top of that, the average non-fatal roadway injury causes an employee to miss 14 days of work. With so many employees driving for work, organizations look to WMSC to help provide driver training so they can keep employees safe on the road. Doing so not only helps save lives, but it can help avoid potentially catastrophic expenses related to roadway incidents.

Due to increased fuel and transportation expenses, a fuel surcharge of $10 per student will be added to the program.


This adjustment ensures continued delivery of services without compromising program quality and will support vehicle operation, allowing us to maintain consistent, high-quality behind-the-wheel instruction for all participants.

Instructor Led Defensive Driving (DDC)

This DDC course is the fundamental driver safety training program of the WMSC and NSC providing learners with core defensive driving knowledge and techniques and is available in 4-hour, 6-hour, and 8-hour sessions, based on your needs and requirements.

Alive @ 25

Ideal for young drivers aged 16 — 25

Young drivers learn how to make responsible, respectful and legal driving decisions. Use this course in conjunction with Junior Operator License laws to address violations connected to night and passenger restrictions, speeding, drag racing, and other poor choices. It’s a highly interactive program designed to course-correct poor driving behaviors before they become routine. It also provides role-playing opportunities and group exercises that show young drivers how to take control of situations, and become accountable for their actions, attitudes and driving behaviors.

It's important to note that participants must attend every scheduled day for all weeks of the session and pass the driving skills assessment test to be issued a certificate.
